Top 5 Android Phones For Selfies
Top 5 Android Phones For Selfies [2014]
Selfies – a much widely used term causing either excitement or annoyance depending on each person. This word became so popular that it even got the honor of being Oxford Dictionaries’ ‘Word of The Year‘ in 2013. From politicians to astronauts to Ellen DeGeneres. Even a monkey! It’s safe to say that everyone, well almost everyone, takes selfies. For some, the first thing they check before buying a new smartphone is the quality of the front camera! So in order to make it easier for you, here’s a list of the best android smartphones for your perfect looking selfies!
-
LG G3
The first question that pops up in your head will be “Where are the buttons?”. That’s right. LG managed to pull a design so ahead of time that practically it has a button-less design. All you see in front is the beautiful 1440 x 2560 pixels display, 5.5 inches (~534 ppi pixel density) screen and 2.1 MP front camera. The lock button along with the volume rocker have been pushed to the back, which LG claims is “perfect for easy one handed use”, and rightly so. The buttons near 13 MP rear camera are exactly where you would keep your index finger when you hold the phone in your hand regardless of your dominance of hand. This helps in taking shake free snaps. LG G3 has added capabilities to ensure you get the “perfect selfie”. The camera also responds to voice commands, say “cheese” and a picture is taken! A fast way to open the camera in here will be to hold down the volume button even when the screen is off, just a two-second hold and then the camera app starts. You can even make it take a snap for you when you do a particular hand gesture like making a fist in front of the camera. All over it’s a best companion for a selfie lover. -
HTC One M8
It’s one of the best smartphones of the year. HTC took everything we loved about the original HTC One, and passed down to its successor HTC One M8 in an even better way. Yes it still feels amazing to wrap your hands around a full metallic body phone. And there are more reasons to rejoice when it is accompanied by a 5 MP, 1080p@30fps, HDR camera for selfies. The rear dual 4 MP, 2688х1520 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash adds some fun experience like UFocus, 3d effects with tilt etc. There is no doubt here that the camera just got better than ever. Spending some time with the front and rear camera, you will realize that there is no need to go back now. -
HTC desire 820
One of the first phones to come up with 64-bit octa-core processor (some variants are powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor) that is compatible with the new Android L (Lollipop). It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. To make things sweeter, HTC added mutiple modes and features for selfie lovers, like Photobooth where a timer will keep taking your selfies for your ultimate “hands-free selfies” upto 4 moments back-to-back in a single image. Other features include Live-Makeup which allows you to preview the image and set the desired level of skin smoothing before the image is captured, and Face Fusion technology, which allows you to merge your face with that of a friend or celebrity for a completely original look. Combined with a 13-megapixel snapper at the back, there is no reason to be ashamed in owning this phone. -
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Powered by a Snapdragon Quad-core 2.7 GHz processor, making it one of the fastest mobile phone that you can own now. Its 3.7 MP, 1440p wide angle camera makes sure all of you friends are captured in the single perfect group selfie. But the best part is the rear 16 MP, 5312 x 2988 pixels, optical image stabilization, autofocus, LED flash camera with face detection, that allows you to take the selfie with the clarity that many other phones are miles behind in achieving. These features along with “S pen” help you customize your pic with all the filters and modes you want to make it look better. -
HTC Desire Eye
If you think there would be nothing special about this particular HTC model then you are wrong. One look at its bigger sized front camera lens says it all. Apart from having the aesthetics of a high end device, HTC Desire Eye has a 13 MP, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, HDR cameras for stunning selfies. The combination of this and the rear camera which has a 13 MP, 4208 x 3120 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash camera, makes this a must have fantasy of every selfie lover out there. So these were some of my favorite android smartphones for 2014 standing out for their exceptional selfie and photo capturing abilities.
