News: HTC One (M9) Tipped to Sport Large-Screen Variant With Physical Home Button
The rumours and leaks for HTC One (M9) aka Hima just don't seem to
stop with the handset's purported design surfacing once again. The new
image for the rumoured HTC One (M9) shows a larger variant of the
smartphone alongside, with both sporting a much slimmer design than
predecessors.
The image comes courtesy
of the now-retired tipster @evleaks, who posted a tweet saying "Old
habits die hard..." along with four images, with the first three leaks
of previous flagship handsets from the company, indicating the last is
of the anticipated new flagship.
The last greyscale image shows
two smartphones of different sizes, the larger one of which sports a
physical home key button. Phonearena speculates
the home key will come with added security features and act like a
fingerprint sensor. While HTC is yet to confirm any of the leaks and
rumours, it has been suggested that the smaller handset will be the
flagship HTC One (M9), while the larger variant will be called as HTC
One (M9) Plus or Max, based on the past models released by the Taiwanese
firm.
The two smartphones in the images are also seen boasting a HTC Desire Eye-like
front-facing camera. The front-facing speakers that should come with
the company's BoomSound are integrated in the handsets, this time in a
more subdued manner.
It is yet be seen what HTC has got in store for its fans at its upcoming MWC 2015 event scheduled for March 1 in Barcelona, and the successor to the HTC One (M8) is expected.
As
for the specifications, the HTC One (M9) or HTC Hima might include a
5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 810
processor; Adreno 430 GPU; 3GB of RAM; 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and a
13-megapixel front camera. The specifications were tipped in an alleged
AnTuTu benchmark test of the handset last month.
BlackBerry
will reportedly roll out BB10 OS version 10.3.1 starting February 19 to
all BB10 devices. It is worth mentioning that only the BlackBerry
Classic and BlackBerry Passport handsets come with the latest BB10 OS
out-of-the-box. The update was earlier expected to arrive in
January, but was officially pushed back to February, reports N4BB - the
publication that is now claiming the February 19 date based on
information gleaned from BlackBerry sources. The report adds
that the BB10 OS 10.3.1 update was due to be rolled on Saturday, but
was pulled due to issues including erasing the data on the device. he information is unconfirmed by BlackBerry and originates from N4BB.com, who claim to have it from a source within the company. Regardless, the update will be available for the BlackBerry Passport, BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983, BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10. For
now, BlackBerry has yet to confirm the start of the rollout on February
19, and users are advised to take the reports of the release date with a
pinch of salt as the company may yet run into unforeseen issues. The BlackBerry
OS 10.3.1 will be bringing the reverse contrast mode in other
BlackBerry handsets. Blocking contacts from calling and texting will
also be possible after the update. Additionally, users can hide the
desired images and videos from others. Most importantly, the update will
introduce the Blackberry Assistant, a Siri-like voice-based virtual
assistant, which was revealed last year in July. Furthermore, a
Battery Saving mode has also been included with the update that cuts
down on smartphone's display brightness, notifications and lowers the
CPU performance for longer battery life. Customisation of notifications
like particular ringtones for select callers and selecting an LED colour
for notifications will also be possible. The firm last month launched the BlackBerry Classic in India, priced at Rs. 31,990. The company also launched its flagship BlackBerry Passport back in September. The Passport was priced at Rs. 49,990 in India.
